The tenor Markus Ennsthaller is an internationally performing opera singer and concert soloist. Some performance highlights of his career include Mozart's Coronation Mass in the “Gasteig” concert hall in Munich, a gala evening in the “Brucknerhaus Linz” and the various concerts in the Palais des Beaux-Arts “Bozar" in Brussels, including Mendelsohn’s “2nd symphony "Lobgesang"” and “Die erste Walpurgisnacht” as well as Bach’s Mass in b minor.

Markus Ennsthaller graduated from the University Mozarteum Salzburg in October 2019 with a Master's degree in Lied and Oratorio. His vocal training was guided by Michèle Crider, Christoph Strehl, Andreas Macco, Mario Diaz and Hartmut Elbert. His Lied professors, pianists Helmut Deutsch and Pauliina Tukiainen, taught him interpretative and artistic finesse. He also received important impulses in master classes with Michèle Crider and Josef Wallnig, among others.

As for opera, Markus Ennsthaller embodied the roles of Tamino in “Die Zauberflöte” (Mozart), Eisenstein in “Fledermaus” (Strauß), Aumônier in “Dialogues des Carmelites” (Poulenc), Don Basilio and Don Curzio in “Le nozze di Figaro” (Mozart), and the “Dancaïro” in Carmen, (Bizet).

Markus Ennsthaller's Lied repertoire includes the cycles of Schubert and Schumann, French mélodies, works by the british composers Benjamin Britten and Roger Quilter as well as and contemporary works by Wolfgang Rihm and Jakob Gruchmann.
